The Montana Parent Information & Resource Center (MTPIRC) is funded through the US Department of Education for the years 2007-2012. Every state has a PIRC to provide leadership, technical assistance and coordination to help boost student academic achievement. The MT PIRC will help our children succeed in school by:

  • Providing technical assistance and resources for school-family-community partnerships; and

  • Bringing information, training and support to parents, educators, and those working with families.
  • Our focus is on:

  • early learning and school readiness;
  • parent leadership;
  • school-family-community partnerships; and
  • statewide networking.

  • Statewide Networking

    The MT PIRC serves as a clearinghouse, bringing together ideas, strategies, and models that allow us to leverage knowledge and resources. In conjunction with the Office of Public Instruction, the MT PIRC brings information and tools to parents, teachers and administrators regarding the No Child Left Behind legislation. Networking includes:

  • e-newsletters from the Healthy Start Council
  • linking of Parents as Teachers providers
  • presentations at statewide conferences
  • hosting an annual Families and Learning Conference
  • a website with resources and links
  • a toll-free line for technical assistance or questions.
